This rare 20 Francs gold coin from France dates back to the early rule of Napoleon Bonaparte in the year "AN12" (1803). It was issued during the transition from the First Republic to the First Empire, shortly after Napoleon's coup. The obverse features his portrait with the inscription "Bonaparte Premier Consul," while the reverse displays the denomination within a wreath, with the date and Paris mintmark ("A") below. These "Premier Consul" coins were minted for less than two years before Napoleon was declared Emperor, making them highly rare and collectible
