Rolex Daytona 16523 Zenith Movement Two Tone
$100,000.00
Title :

This particular watch is in 18k yellow gold and stainless steel. The dial is a black dial with gold subsidiary dials and hash stick luminescent markers. It has a gold tachymeter bezel and gold screw down crown and chronograph pushers. This Daytona is often referred to as the Zenith movement Daytona. This is because it’s based on the Zenith El Primero movement that Rolex modified and named their caliber 4030 movement. Back in the early 1900’s when Rolex first started making chronograph watches, they used a Valjoux movement which was already available in three sizes when they made their simple one button chronographs. Starting in 1988 Rolex switched from a Valjoux movement to a Zenith movement for their Daytona models. At the time, this was the only movement that was contracted out by another brand for Rolex. The Daytona comes on the Rolex oyster bracelet, it has a sturdy flip lock clasp. The dial reads: Rolex Oyster Perpetual Superlative Chronometer Officially Certified Cosmograph. At the bottom of the dial it says T Swiss Made T indicating that tritium was used for the luminescence on the hands and hour markers.
